Toyota has revived two popular limited edition models for its 'Toyota means business' sales campaign. Both cars, based on the locally-produced Camry and Aurion models, are hitting the showrooms in the lead-in to the company's massive sales program. In the months immediately prior to the end of each financial year, Toyota dealers push cars out the door at heavily discounted prices.
It has been established over a long period of time that limited-edition models offering enhanced specification for the same price or only slightly more, are popular with the buying public. Within barely 12 months of the Aurion's original release in 2006, Toyota released the first Touring edition model of the large V6 sedan.
Toyota's latest Aurion Touring carries on that long-standing tradition of the 'special value' locally-built large car. Based on the entry-level Aurion AT-X and priced the same -- $35,990 (manufacturer's list price*) -- the Aurion Touring comes with the following features in addition to the standard specification of the base-grade Aurion: 17-inch alloy wheels, rear wing spoiler, six-disc in-dash CD audio, dual-zone climate control, Multi Information Display and reversing camera.
The Camry Touring special edition model features the following additional items over the specification of the standard Camry Altise: 17-inch alloy wheels, rear lip spoiler, six-disc in-dash CD audio, Multi Information Display, dual-zone climate control, sports grille/headlamps and reversing camera. Priced at $30,990 (manufacturer's list price*), the Touring edition Camry costs $500 more than the Camry Altise.
* Manufacturer's list price excludes on-road costs and dealer pre-delivery charge.
