Honda Australia has released details on its upgraded 2006-model Accord. The Thai-built Accord VTi, V6 and V6 Luxury models feature styling and standard equipment changes for the new model year.
Based on the US-market model, the VTi and V6 variants are categorised in the VFACTs Large car segment Down Under. The equipment changes are applicable for the above models alone and should not be confused with the Accord Euro updates. For more information on the latest Euro click here.
In terms of styling the updated Accords get substantially revised rear end styling. New tail lights are the key feature. These no longer include repeaters/refectors on the boot lid and feature LED elements for a cleaner, more modern apperance.
The rear bumper appears to be reprofiled and there's new exhaust treatment -- twin opposed outlets. New alloys are featured on all models.
The main addition to the equipment suite is the availability of integrated sat nav. The system is now standard equipment on the Accord Luxury V6.
Inside the Accord gets a new black interior with metal look console and new gear shifter.
Mechanically, the four-cylinder VTi features drive-by-wire throttle for the first time and a few more horses -- 125kW versus 118. The V6 is unchanged under the bonnet.
Pricing for the revised VTi and V6 Accord is unchanged at $29,900 and $36,990 respectively. The V6 Luxury is now $44,990 -- up from $43,740.
