Teslas lead the charge at auction

Four examples of the Tesla Model S will go under the hammer at Pickles' luxury car auction in Sydney next week

Tesla's Model S – the large, luxury sedan that's shown the world how to build desirable electric cars – is entering its second-owner phase in Australia.

Four of the electric vehicles will be offered by auction house Pickles for the upcoming Sydney Luxury Car Auction on Monday, August 14, from 6pm. All four cars were complianced for Australia late in 2015, and all have travelled at least 14,000km over the nearly two years since. Three of the cars have travelled less than 20,000km, but a P85D has notched up very nearly 31,000km. So much for range anxiety!

Two out of the four cars are the P85D Dual-Motor models, with the third an 85D Dual-Motor variant and the fourth a 70D Dual-Motor model finished in blue, a popular colour chosen for three out of the four cars. The fourth Model S appearing in the auction is black.

As well as the Teslas, there are up to 23 BMWs, 14 Benzes and eight Audis going to auction on the same night, along with four Porsches, three Jags, two Land Rovers and a Ferrari.

Vehicles can be viewed ahead of the auction at Pickles' premises, 54 Kingsgrove Road, Belmore, and bidders can go on-line to secure the car they want. Further information is available on the website/.
