The Passat-based CC has led the charge as Volkswagen Australia increased prices across a selection of passenger cars during January.
Moving up by $1000, the CC (pictured) is now $56,990 for the 130 TDI model, or $66,990 for the V6 FSI. Since the current model went on sale in July 2012 the price has remained fairly stable. Even now, the new price is just $2000 more than the launch price, a reflection of the strength of the Australian dollar and our low inflation rate during the period.
Other models in the local Volkswagen range to come up in price are the Polo, Golf (including the wagon) and the Beetle.
Polo prices have risen $200 for the Polo Trendline and $300 for the Comfortline grade. Golf is $300 dearer for the 90 TSI, $400 more for the Golf Comfortline and $500 higher for the Golf Highline. The retro-styled Beetle has climbed $500.
