Plug-in hybrid 2026 GWM Tank 300 Hi4-T priced

Two variants headed Down Under, both under $60k for a limited time

The News

GWM Australia has announced the plug-in hybrid Tank 300 Hi4-T will be offered here in both Lux and Ultra guises, the former starting at $55,990 drive-away and the latter from $59,990. That said, the unexpectedly sharp pricing is only a “limited-time special launch offer”.

The Key Details

  • 2026 GWM Tank 300 Hi4-T Lux ($55,990 d/a) due in April
  • 2026 GWM Tank 300 Hi4-T Ultra ($59,990 d/a) due in March
  • 2.0T PHEV powertrain: 300kW/750Nm, V2L, 105km EV range (NEDC), 50kW DC fast-charging
  • Full specifications announced closer to launch

The Finer Details

Exactly how long this special launch offer will be in place for is yet to be formally announced, however GWM Australia’s configurator cites an end date of February 28 and lists the offer as a $2000 saving off the final drive-away figure, meaning the actual list prices will be $57,990 and $61,990 drive-away once the first examples are on Aussie soil.

That makes the Tank 300 Ultra Hi4-T $5000 dearer than the existing Ultra Hybrid, $9000 more than the equivalent diesel and $11,000 upstream of the petrol Ultra when referring to the recommended retail prices (RRPs).

The Lux Hi4-T, meantime, is $9000 more than the Lux Diesel.

Plug-in hybrid exclusives include peak power and torque figures of 300kW and 750Nm, 50kW DC fast-charging, up to 105km of electric range (NEDC), a combined fuel consumption of 1.9L/100km (claimed) and 6kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities.

Complete equipment lists will be announced closer to the Hi4-Ts’ local release in the coming months, however the configurator shows the PHEV duo to sit on unique 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Road Ahead

It would be safe to assume the kit lists will read largely the same as the other variants in the range, meaning the Lux should offer leather upholstery, a nine-speaker sound system, powered sunroof, dual-zone climate control, low-range gearing and a locking rear differential, to which the Ultra will add Nappa leather, more speakers and a front locker (plus more plenty).

“Vehicles will be available at GWM dealerships from early March 2026, with the Ultra series available first and the Lux grade to follow in early April,” GWM said in a statement.
