Nissan shows off 360º dash cam for JUKE
Little SUV shows-off portable 4K camera which may reduce insurance premiumsNissan has announced it could soon offer British buyers an integrated dash cam in its JUKE SUV.
Said to offer a complete 360º view, 'Jukecam', has been developed in conjunction with camera specialist 360fly and is capable of recording in 4K.
An added benefit is the ability of the on-board recording device to be removed and used as an action camera - it includes mounts for a crash helmet - with a battery life of up to two hours.
To prove this, Nissan teamed with stuntman Dalton Smith to set a new world record for 'most consecutive cars jumped over on a pogo stick'.
In the video, Smith mounts a Jukecam to his crash helmet and manages to pogo over three Jukes in a row with just one bounce in between.
Nissan claims British customers opting for the JUKEcam could be rewarded with cheaper car insurance as the video footage will more easily attribute blame for accidents and thus help settlement of claims.
A Nissan Australia spokeswoman told motoring.com.au Jukecam is at this stage a technology concept with no plans as yet for inclusion in Jukes sold locally.
