Next-generation Bentley Flying Spur teased

Two official images of the all-new Bentley Flying Spur have been released in the build-up to British luxury limo's launch later this year.

The two shadowy teases show both the silhouette outline of the next-generation Bentley Flying Spur and its trademark 'Flying B' bonnet mascot.

Featuring a more upright grille and sportier styling closely related to the Continental GT, the third-generation Bentley Flying Spur has been created once again to rival both the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Mercedes-Maybach S600.

All-new from the ground up, the Bentley Flying Spur switches to the latest Volkswagen Group MSB architecture that currently underpins the current Continental GT coupe and the Porsche Panamera.

That should ensure the next Flying Spur will be transformed in the driving department, with the new platform supporting 48-volt electrification that enables active anti-roll bars and Bentley's Dynamic Ride suspension.

Set to be unveiled later this year and launched shortly after, the Flying Spur will initially be offered with the mighty 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 petrol that generates 473kW and 900Nm in the Continental GT.

Later on a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 will arrive that will produce 404kW and 770Nm, plus a plug-in hybrid that's set to combine a turbocharged V6 and two electric motors.

A diesel is not expected.

It's not known if the British limo will combine the coupe's eight-speed dual clutch transmission. More likely it will come with a traditional automatic gearbox. All versions will get all-wheel drive.

Inside, the Flying Spur will feature an even more luxurious take on the Continental GT's cabin.
