Jeep is plotting another new reveal after earlier this year launching its plug-in hybrid Jeep Wrangler 4xe and the all-new Jeep Grand Wagoneer flagship – and we don’t have long to wait.
In one of the most succinct comms directives ever, Jeep’s parent company FCA has issued a press release that reads:
“Jeep will unveil a new vehicle at noon EST on Tuesday, November 17.
“The event will be streamed online and available for public viewing at www.youtube.com/Jeep. Save the date and stay tuned for additional information.”
While the brand is keeping mum on what the “new vehicle” may be, there are several possibilities and we’re hoping it’s the mooted Jeep Hercules pick-up truck – a high-performance version of the Gladiator dual-cab ute.
More likely is the next-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee, one of the American SUV specialist’s key global vehicles.
The bigger, more advanced new large SUV will ditch its outdated Mercedes underpinnings and offer a seven-seat layout when it arrives in Australia.
Following coronavirus-related delays, FCA plans to commence production of the new Grand Cherokee, which should share design cues with the born-again Grand Wagoneer (pictured), in the third quarter of 2021, which would mean Aussie sales won’t begin until at least 2022.

Previously a big player on the Australian sales charts, the Grand Cherokee has the notorious title of the ‘most-recalled vehicle’ in the country.
But it remains Jeep’s top-selling model by a long shot, with 2161 sales to the end of October representing exactly half of the brand’s total volume this year.
Of course, Jeep could surprise us by revealing something else on November 17.
Perhaps the production version of the tyre-shredding Wrangler Rubicon 392 V8 concept? Or its long-awaited first full-electric vehicle?
