Mitsubishi is hoping to add extra spark to sales of its Outlander SUV with the limited release of an ACTiV version that adds a number of no-cost extras to base LS specification.
Available in 2WD, 4WD, as a five or seven-seater, and offering the choice of five-speed manual or CVT transmission, the ACTiV Outlander adds to the glitz with 18-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, and a titillating dress-up programme that brings a chrome-bordered grille with matt black centre, black roof rails and a chrome exhaust tip.
More significant additions include reversing sensors and Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity, while the 2WD ACTiV version gains the automatic climate control and side and curtain airbags that are standard on 4WD variants. The ACTiV Outlander also gains an interior style package with chrome handles and silver accents throughout.
The ACTiV Outlander is equipped with Mitsubishi's 125kW/226Nm 2.4-litre MPI MIVEC engine.
If you need to advise passersby that you are driving a special Outlander, there's an ACTiV badge to advertise its special status. But hurry, Mitsubishi is only producing 1,750 examples of the ACTiV Outlander, all available with the full colour choice offered in LS specification.
