Land Rover has released an image of a new pure-electric, fully autonomous Range Rover Sport prototype it created for a new US drama series, The First.
Made for the new television series that streams on Hulu and stars Sean Penn, the futuristic Range Rover Sport is said to feature autonomous technology that sees its steering wheel retract into the dashboard when not needed.
Featuring a 360-degree 'Smart Bar' that cleverly embeds all the sensors needed to read the road and communicate with other cars, the British SUV also gets mirrored glass that's turns transparent in a matter of seconds when vision is required.
Inside, the Land Rover is capable of reconfiguring its interior automatically depending on whether or not the vehicle is being used for business or relaxation.
Said to run on pure-electric powertrain, the Sport also gets a suspension that's capable of catering its handling and ride characteristics to the individual driver.
It's not known how much of the tech used on the car that stars in The First is real but an insider has admitted that 'some' of the advanced features were added in post-production.
