You can keep your SUVs and electric vehicles, because one of the unsung heroes of the 2016 Los Angeles motor show is undoubtedly the Lexus Sriracha IS – complete with an emergency sauce dispensing key fob.
Giving customers features they actually want – such as 43 bottles of hot sauce in the boot, or green highlights around the front grille, indicators, exhaust tips, brake calipers and interior lighting – the Lexus even comes with a Sriracha Drive Mode, which hots up the transmission changes and throttle response. Word.
Lexus attempted to put the spicy sauce in the paint too and settled with a custom Sriracha Red colour, with faux flecks to mimic chilli flakes.
But the real star are the accessories, namely custom jackets and bespoke driving gloves (aka oven mitts), the latter required to handle the spicy custom-made steering wheel.
Leaving no stone unturned in its search for the sweat-inducing awesomeness – including climate control that ranges from 'cool' to 'Sriracha hot' – the car was created for Lexus by West Coast Customs to celebrate the launch of the 2017 Lexus IS sports sedan.

It's a novel way to introduce a car to the market and it must be said the attention to detail is sublime. Take the leather seats which feature embroidery of the Huy Fong rooster logo, which are hand-stitched, or the custom Sriracha badges. Even the puddle lights get Sriracha treatment.
"The new Lexus IS is so hot, we decided to make it Sriracha hot, with all the custom details every Sriracha fan will appreciate," said Brian Smith, Lexus vice president of marketing, who was clearly pleased with himself.

David Tran, the CEO and founder of Huy Fong Foods that makes Sriracha, was pretty stoked too.
"I feel so humbled to see my Lexus and Sriracha friends' love for my hot sauce," he said.

"The Lexus Sriracha IS is really the perfect mix for a hot and spicy car – just the way I like it."
But we wonder… If the Lexus Sriracha IS was raced, and crashed, at the infamous Nurburgring road course, would the driver have a bad case of 'Ring sting?
