Buyers of Honda's new NSX supercar will have a personalised mechanic at their disposal and three years' free servicing under an ambitious Australian plan designed to woo buyers into the fold.
Speaking with journalists in Sydney today, Honda Australia boss Stephen Collins said the search had begun for a full-time technician that would service and maintain every NSX sold in Australia.
The successful candidate will give detailed feedback on each car, operate across Honda’s five dedicated NSX dealers and be available after-hours if an owner strikes technical difficulties.

The strategy is similar to that employed by the likes of top-echelon performance car-makers such as Ferrari and Lamborghini – marques that Honda is intent on targeting.
Collins revealed he also would make himself available after-hours to NSX customers — who will pay $420,000 for the privilege of ownership — in a bid to ensure the ultimate experience.
“We will have one master technician in Australia and that person will know the car inside and out,” Collins said.
The Australian order book for Honda’s second-generation NSX officially opens this week, with the first dealer deliveries expected in the new year.

Collins revealed “six or seven” buyers have signed up for the flagship model, which also goes head on with the likes of the Porsche 911 Turbo and Audi R8.
The development comes as Honda formally commences right-hand drive production of the born-again NSX this week at its US manufacturing plant (pictured).
Honda is also understood to be working on GT3, fully electric and Type-R variants of the new NSX, though Honda Australia remains coy on the subject except to say there is a long-term vision for NSX.

“There’s a long-term commitment to the car. The company wouldn’t invest the development and the factory just for one shot,” Collins said.
“That will play out in time.”
Australian media including motoring.com.au will drive Honda's all-new hybrid supercar on home turf for the first time later this year.
