Honda has repositioned the Civic in consonance with a cosmetic update and some added features.
Knocking a thousand dollars off the price of the entry-level VTi sedan and absorbing the on-road costs make the Civic very competitive – at $21,990 for the manual or $24,290 for the auto. Without the on-road costs the new pricing is $19,490 (manual) and $21,790 (auto).
In addition, the revised Civic VTi comes with a new black cloth trim, halogen daytime running lights and an illuminated vanity mirror. These items are carried across the range, as standard. Honda has also introduced a new colour to the Civic sedan's palette, Twilight Blue.
Other variants in the range (Civic VTi-L, VTi-LN and Sport) are all $700 cheaper now. The mid-range Civic VTi-L is now priced at $23,290 and is specified with standard rain-sensing wipers and a reversing camera. Both the VTi and VTi-LN ($26,290) now come from the factory with a leather-bound steering wheel and six-speaker audio with two front tweeters. Civic Sport is priced at $30,290  and is unchanged barring the tweaks applied across the range.
"The Civic is one of Honda’s most well known nameplates around the world. This upgrade in specification and features for a lower price adds even more value to the popular and loved vehicle," said Honda Australia Director, Mr. Stephen Collins.
