Lexus has dropped the lower-priced LX 570 Prestige model from its range as part of a reshuffle for the 2010 model year of the 200 Series LandCruiser-based SUV.
A new variant, the LX 570 Sports, takes the place of the discontinued grade -- and brings with it enhanced standard equipment. The flagship of the range, the LX 570 Sports Luxury has been upgraded also.
All variants gain upgraded satnav and user interface for the new model year. In addition, the vehicles now feature a USB input for portable media sources, a 12-Volt auxiliary socket in the luggage compartment, headlight washers and improved privacy glass for the rear seating.
Over the specification of the discontinued LX 570 Prestige, the newly-introduced LX 570 Sports features a coolbox for the centre console, a rear-seat entertainment system and roof rails.
The range-topping LX 570 Sports Luxury (pictured) can be identified by a distinctive body kit -- feature front and rear aerodynamic aids -- and a new type of 20-inch alloy wheel in a 10-spoke design.
"Upgrades to LX 570 will add further appeal to those wanting to take their Lexus off-road, with Sports models becoming the premium Lexus off-roader," said Tony Cramb, Chief Executive for Lexus Australia.
"For those who want the space and safety offered from LX 570, Sports Luxury models will feature greater visual muscle, and the safety of side, front and reversing cameras - vital in negotiating the suburban jungle."
Manufacturer's list prices are $149,500 for the LX 570 Sports and $165,400 for the LX 570 Sports Luxury.
