Ford is in the process of adding spice -- and price -- to its FG Falcon lineup.
Both Falcon XT sedan and XR utes have increased base prices, counteracted by the inclusion of equipment upgrades that actually improve value, while G6 models are now gifted with new options -- a reversing camera and a premium sound system.
Among the more significant changes is the inclusion of stability control as standard equipment on all petrol XR utes. This covers XR6 Cab Chassis and Styleside Box, XR6 Turbo Styleside Box and XR8 Styleside Box models and comes with a $500 price increase.
The XR cab-chassis is now $34, 590, while the XR6 Styleside Box is $34,990 and XR6 Turbo and XR8 V8 utes are priced identically at $38,990.
The adjustments continue, with base Falcon XTs now getting new-design 16-inch five-spoke alloy wheels as standard equipment -- previously a $500 option -- as part of a $300 XT price increase to $36,790.
And the G6 options list now includes a reversing camera adding $500 to the retail G6 price, while an optional eight-speaker premium audio system includes a six-disc CD stacker, 150-Watt amplifier, sub-woofer, a graphic equalizer and a seven-inch colour display for a recommended retail price of $1100.
Ford has also introduced a new exterior paint colour on selected models among the FG Falcon, SY Territory and FPV ranges. The new "dark chocolate cherry" duco is called 'Velvet' and features a red/copper metallic highlight. The colour is exclusive to sports/luxury models across the locally-produced Ford and FPV model line-ups.
All the changes are effective from September 1.
