Ford Australia has entered into an agreement with Rare Spares to keep early model Falcons on the road. Named 'Ford Restoration Parts by Rare Spares', the program will ensure parts supply for all locally-built Falcons from the very first XK model through to the XF of 1984.
“We are very excited to be working with Rare Spares to help keep these iconic Ford vehicles on the road,” said Bob Graziano, President and CEO of Ford Australia.
“Ford has a very iconic place in the history of Australian culture, and under this new agreement, Rare Spares are able to help enthusiasts restore their classic vehicles to their former glory and continue to pay tribute to Ford Australia’s heritage.”
Under the agreement, Ford will supply Rare Spares with access to tooling, in order to remanufacture parts that are no longer freely available through Ford dealers. Parts will include Ford badges, decals, wheel caps and trims, window, door and boot seal rubbers, engine and cooling components, electrical components, lamps and lenses.
“This is an exciting opportunity for Rare Spares to further cement our position in Australasia as the leading supplier of Ford restoration parts,” said Rare Spares General Manager, David Rayner.
“Both Ford Australia and Rare Spares recognise the importance of keeping the heritage of Ford products alive.
“We are very excited to work with Ford’s engineers and sales staff to continue helping Ford enthusiasts live their dreams of owning and restoring classic Fords.”
Originally dedicated to finding and on-selling spare parts for 48-215 and FJ Holdens, Rare Spares was established in 1974 and in 1986 expanded into Ford parts from its premises in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. The company has been manufacturing reproduction Holden parts for decades, but this is the first time Rare Spares has authorised to manufacture and sell parts for Ford owners.
