Final Aussie Fords attract big dollars

Aussie enthusiasts splash out for Blue Oval's final saleable models

The final iterations of Ford’s Australian Falcon and Territory have attracted big dollars at auction.

Barely a week after leaving Ford's production line, two enthusiasts shelled out a combined $353,000 for the final models at the weekend, with proceeds going towards community projects across Victoria.

Ford dealer John Bradbury snapped up the most desirable offering, the final Falcon XR6 Sprint, build number 500 of 500, for a cool $122,000 – roughly double the car’s regular sticker price. He also landed the final Falcon Ute, a Smoke grey XR6 Turbo, for $81,000.

Ford fanatic Mark Jeffs outbid others to land the final Falcon XR6 ($81,500) and Territory ($68,500).

While all proceeds (excluding taxes) from the sale of the final Falcon XR6 Sprint will go to Geelong charity ‘Give Where You Live’, proceeds from the other three cars will be dedicated to supporting the establishment and expansion of student robotics programs in Broadmeadows and Geelong schools.

All vehicles have been deemed the final “saleable” models from Ford’s Australian production, even though each is the second-to-last examples of their kind. The Blue Oval says it will retain the absolute final Falcon, Ute and Territory in-house to celebrate the marque’s heritage, assuring none will ever be sold or registered.
