Facelifted Alpine A110 incoming

Fast pint-sized coupe set for mid-life update that focuses mainly on styling and cabin tech

French sports car-maker and F1 team Alpine has released a series of teasers announcing it will reveal a facelifted version of its Alpine A110 coupe late tonight Australian time.

The announcement of the mid-life update to the Gallic Porsche 718 Cayman or Audi TT alternative was broadcast via a short video released on the Renault-owned performance brand's social media feeds.

The short, shadowy clip of the updated A110 reveals the refresh is imminent and gives brief glimpses of what looks like an identical version of the current small coupe being driven quickly.

Despite little official information, it's rumoured the facelift will be mild, with a set of redesigned tail-lights and updated headlights expected, although the brand's trademark four circular lights up front are expected to live on.

Inside, a reskin of the current car's infotainment system is expected, plus more minor changes to the materials and trims used.

Under the rear boot lid, the mid-mounted 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder is set to carry over unchanged, meaning the most powerful S version will still produce 215kW (30kW more than the standard coupe) and the same 320Nm of torque.

Combined with seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the quickest Alpine A110S can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 4.4 seconds and top out at 260km/h.

It's unlikely, but not confirmed yet, that Alpine might have re-engineered the A110 to conform to Australian ADR 85 side impact regulations.

If so, the French sports car brand might be able to continue to sell the A110 Down Under – although since it was first introduced back in September 2018, just 83 cars have found homes here.

Stay tuned, as all will be revealed shortly.
