UPDATE, 14/05/2026: Subaru Australia has locked in a $59,990 (plus ORCs) starting price for its new Uncharted compact SUV, with just one variant set to be offered.
Due in showrooms shortly, the singular variant will be known as the 2026 Subaru Uncharted AWD and come fitted with a 14-inch infotainment system, 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, multi-colour ambient lighting, wireless phone projection, dual wireless charging pad, a 360-degree camera, 7.0-inch driver's display, leather upholstery and more as standard.
Its mechanical specifications and key capabilities can be found below in our original coverage from March 27.
The Subaru Uncharted has been confirmed for the Australian market and will arrive Down Under in the coming months armed with 252kW of power, symmetrical all-wheel drive and a 74.7kWh battery pack.

Taking to social media to confirm the Toyota-sourced EV for our market, Subaru has already opened expressions of interest in what it’s calling a ‘sport electric vehicle’, or ‘SEV’.
At this stage only the punchy all-paw dual-motor powertrain has been locked in for us, meaning the brand’s smallest EV to date should be able to follow its petrol-powered Crosstrek counterpart off the beaten path on soft-roading adventures.
As such, the Uncharted features 1500-watt vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, a maximum range of up to 522km and backs its 212mm of ground clearance with an X-Mode off-road drive mode and hill descent control.
DC charging can be done at up to 150kW to yield a 10-80 per cent top-up in “around 30 minutes” while its home charging abilities extend to 22kW (three-phase) on AC power.

The Australian line-up is yet to be detailed or priced, but equipment highlights listed on the Subaru Australia website include 20-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting, a 14-inch infotainment system, dual wireless charging pad, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather upholstery and a square steering wheel.
Subaru Australia has confirmed the Uncharted will arrive mid-year, with pricing set to be announced closer to its arrival.
That said, it would be reasonable to expect the compact SUV to be cheaper than the mid-sized Solterra which starts from $63,990 plus on-road costs and is offered in two guises.
Odds are the Uncharted will also be offered in two trim levels, like the eponymous Uncharted AWD and Touring AWD – mimicking the Solterra.
