Nissan Australia has released the first teaser of its new-generation Navara and locked in a November 19 global debut for its all-new Triton-based dual-cab ute.
After a tumultuous saga of negotiations, global financial woes and management reshuffles, an all-new – arguably overdue – Nissan Navara is inbound.
This first official teaser suggests the ‘D27’ Navara will closely resemble its Triton donor vehicle, while the platform and powertrain is widely expected to a be a copy and paste affair: twin-turbo 2.4-litre diesel engine (150kW/470Nm), six-speed automatic transmission, full-time 4x4 (mid-range up), 800mm wading and, crucially, leaf-sprung rear suspension.

“The new Navara is set to draw on this heritage, incorporating design elements that pay homage to previous generations while delivering the advanced capability and technology today’s drivers demand,” Nissan said in a statement.
“The vehicle’s development has been guided by lessons learned from hundreds of thousands of Australian and New Zealand customers who have chosen Navara as their trusted partner.”

The new Nissan Navara will make its global debut on November 19 in Adelaide, underscoring Nissan’s focus and prioritisation of the Australian ute market.
More details will come to light in the coming weeks, but we already know local bosses are keen to continue the lucrative Warrior hero program facilitated by Premcar – which could well also yield the long-awaited Triton Ralliart.
