The rear-drive GR 86 offers the choice of a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission - both paired to a free-breathing 2.4-litre four-cylinder boxer engine producing 174kW/250Nm. All versions are fitted with seven airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability/traction control, hill start assist, cruise control and tyre pressure warning. Manual-transmission vehicles miss out on key active safety features that are included in automatics, such as autonomous emergency braking and lane departure alert - the result of which is that there's no ANCAP rating.
