EKK1C MY25 Explore Pro Utility Dual Cab 4dr Spts Auto 8sp 4X4 770kg 2.5DT MG's U9 is a dual-cab workhorse ute that's dimensionally a bit bigger than the one-tonne mainstream and adds appeal with thoughtful design touches, while retaining comforting familiarities. The clever stuff includes a split tailgate that electrically pops in half to form a clever step, plus some juxta positioning of the seats that allows access between cabin and tray. The 2.0-litre 160kW/520Nm turbo-diesel engine and its ZF-underpinned dual-range 4x4 driveline are made more refined by the use of a tough but absorbent independent rear suspension. A payload well under one tonne is partly compensated by a 3.5-tonne braked towing capacity. MG doesn't intend to apply for a local ANCAP safety rating.
