GUN126R SR Utility Double Cab 4dr Spts Auto 6sp 4x4 995kg 2.8DT The seemingly unbreakable range of single-cab, four-seat "Extra" cab and four-door double-cab Toyota HiLux utes and cab-chassis variants covers virtually all bases. Introduced in 2015 and updated in late 2020, the current HiLux range spans from base Workmate to flagship Rouge and Rugged X versions. There are 4x4 and 4x2 drivelines, headed by a torquey 150kW/500Nm (auto transmission) 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel that sits above a base 110kW/400Nm 2.4-litre turbo-diesel and a 122kW/245Nm 2.7-litre petrol. Gearboxes are either five or six-speed manuals, or a six-speed auto. Depending on variant, the HiLux will carry payloads up to 1260kg and tow up to 3.5 tonnes. The Toyota HiLux scores five ANCAP safety stars.
