These days Mercedes-Benz Australia only imports the SL roadster as the AMG SL63 4-MATIC which has a new car price of 373,370 + options + ORC.
In other markets, like Japan, the current SL range includes the AMG SL53 and the AMG SL43, with a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder turbo with a mild hybrid 48-V system, producing 280 KW and 480 Nm with a 9 speed automatic (AMG Speedshift MCT 9G) and RWD. It gives very little away to the SL63 in performance or equipment and must represent one of the best bargains on the market.
Our car was sold new in Japan and imported last year. It is finished in very contemporary Spectral Blue Magno metallic with Sienna Brown leather upholstery. It is fitted with 20" AMG 5 twin spoke high sheen/polished alloy wheels.
