The 320kW/900Nm 4.0-litre turbo-diesel V8 launches the weighty Audi from zero to 100km/h in 4.8sec yet returns 7.8L/100km fuel economy. Aided by an electric compressor feeding added low-rpm boost to the oiler V8's turbochargers, the SQ8 also relies on the same electrics to run all-wheel steering, adaptive air suspension and electromechanical active roll stabilisation. It's pretty sophisticated. Plenty of space for at least four adults, an impressive two-screen dash and just about every imaginable luxury item make the Audi SQ8 a pretty complete performance SUV.
