It drives well and is roomy, and the tray has plenty of room to carry the fishing and camping gear needed on a weekend away.
It has always been serviced with VW and is still under warranty.

The dual-cab ute/cab-chassis offers refinement as an adjunct to workhorse capabilities, with RWD or 4MOTION AWD drivelines, six-speed manual or eight-speed auto transmissions and over-achieving 2.0-litre four-cylinder twin-turbo diesels including the 132kW/400Nm manual-transmission TDI 400 and the auto-transmission 132kW/420Nm TDI 420. These are supplemented by three brawny 3.0-litre V6 oilers " the 165kW/500Nm TDI 500, the 165kW/550Nm TDI 550 and the 200kW/580Nm TDI 580. The car-like cab is anything but industrial, and connectivity technology includes Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Leather, power seats and sat-nav feature in top-spec models. The Amarok's payload hovers around one tonne, and the load capacity is 2.52 cubic metres.
