Overview
One of the few remaining old-school off-roaders, Toyota's 200 series LandCruiser is also probably the most familiar. Able to seat as many as eight passengers, the heavy-duty LandCruiser offers V8 turbo-diesel (4.5 litres, 200kW/650Nm) or petrol (4.6 litres, 227kW/439Nm) engines, with high-riding ladder chassis, dual-range off-road abilities and a massive interior complete with all the fundamentals. Equipment becomes more sumptuous from GXL upwards where sat-nav, climate-control, LED headlights and keyless start are standard " and even moreso with the Sahara version that gets a comprehensive suite of safety gear including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, blind-spot sensors and rear cross-traffic alert.
