Overview
The fourth-generation SsangYong Rexton large-class SUV comes to market with neat styling, five or seven seats, a choice between either a rear-drive 165kW/350Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol or an AWD 133kW/420Nm 2.2-litre turbo-diesel and exceptional value for money. It's in Toyota Prado/Mitsubishi MU-X territory, but much cheaper to buy. The cabin, on ELX and Ultimate, gets dual-zone climate-control, power front seats, heated seats front and rear, an advanced instrument cluster and a heated steering wheel. With all-independent suspension, all-wheel disc brakes, six-speed (petrol) or seven-seep (diesel) auto gearboxes and a dual-range 4x4 system the Korean SUV is equipped to go bush. It is also rated to tow three tonnes.
