YB MY19 Sport Hatchback 5dr Auto 6sp 1.4i Kia Australia upgraded its popular and spacious Rio light hatch in late 2018 with two new model variants including the range-topping new GT-Line powered by a spritely 88kW/172Nm 1.0-litre turbo-petrol three-cylinder engine matched with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist and idle stop-start. Next step down the ladder, the mid-range Si and SLi were replaced by a new (1.4-litre) Sport variant. At the other end of the lineup, the entry-level Kia Rio S with a 74kW/133Nm 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and six-speed manual or four-speed auto transmission continues to open the range.
