A kangaroo struck the left-hand side of the vehicle. The damage was cosmetic only. Due to delays sourcing genuine parts and extended repair times, we needed to purchase another vehicle. The Jeep has since been repaired and is back on the road.

M6 MY18 Trailhawk Wagon 5dr Auto 9sp 4x4 2.0DT Jeep's new Compass is an individual presence in the mid-size SUV segment where it competes with Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, Volkswagen Tiguan " and a heap of others. The four-model range includes front and AWD variants, and two engines: a 129kW/229Nm 2.4-litre petrol and a 125kW/350Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel, both linked to a nine-speed Auto gearbox. In 4x4 form, the Compass is Jeep-capable off road, and not bad on the bitumen either. The cabin is spacious, and there's a decent 438 litres of boot space, extendable by folding the rear seats. Like all Jeeps, the Compass comes with the brand's recently-extended five-year warranty.
