The tough workhorse delivers an almost-car-like driving experience, particularly with the 157kW/500Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder " standard in the new Raptor but available elsewhere as well. There are ute and cab-chassis versions, as well as two and four-door cabs, rear-drive or 4x4 drivelines, a new 10-speed auto transmission (linked to the 2.0-litre diesel), six-speed manual or auto transmissions and three diesels: the high-performance twin-turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder, a 147kW/470Nm 3.2-litre five-cylinder and a 118kW/385Nm 2.2-litre four-cylinder. The Ranger scores a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, along with a five-star ANCAP rating.
