The SQ5 is the flagship of Audis second generation Q5 SUV lineup and initially comes as a 260kW/500Nm 3.0-litre single-turbo petrol V6 " a moderately electrically-assisted 255kW/700Nm 3.0-litre V6 TDI turbo-diesel on the blocks for a local release some time in 2020. Competing with hot-shot versions of the Mercedes-Benz GLC and BMW X3, both SQ5s use Audi's full-time quattro 4WD system, with a mechanical Torsen centre differential apportioning torque between the front and rear axles. Inside, Audi's virtual cockpit digital instrumentation, Nappa leather sports seats with diamond stitching are standard and the adaptive-damper suspension rides 25mm lower, tuned for a firmer, more dynamic drive.
