Overview
ZSA42R GX Wagon 5dr CVT 7sp 2WD 550kg 2.0i Credited by many as the creator of the whole SUV thing, the Toyota RAV4 has grown since the first version's arrival in July 1994. Three doors only, but running constant AWD and paying some lip-service to genuine off-roaders (high ground clearance, elevated driving position) the RAV was nevertheless more at home in urban situations. Today the Toyota SUV has grown, diversified and become even more road-centric. There's either front-drive or part-time AWD, a much bigger, five-door interior and three engines: 107kW/187Nm 2.0-litre and 132kW/233Nm 2.5-litre petrols, and a 110kW/340Nm 2.2-litre turbo-diesel. A recently-extended safety kit includes autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning and active cruise control.
