982 MY17 Boxster S Convertible 2dr PDK 7sp 2.5T 718 is an important number for Porsche. It signifies the first four-cylinder cars to come from the company since the front-engined 968 introduced in 1992. Further, it's the first boxer-engined four-cylinder Porsche since the 67kW 1.6-litre 911-based 912 from 1965. Installed in Porsche's mid-engined two-seat Boxster convertible and Cayman coupes, the turbocharged four is available in two capacities and two tunes: 220kW/380Nm (2.0-litre) and 257kW/420Nm (2.5-litre) and with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK auto. A big difference is that the Cayman coupe is now cheaper (around three grand) than the equivalent Boxster convertible.
