Gracious to look at, sumptuously trimmed and very adept on the road, the big Jag covers all bases with a wide choice of engines and plenty of luxury and new-age technology. The XF range starts with the 20d Ingenium turbo-diesel that pumps out a very respectable 132kW/430Nm to provide swift acceleration with 4.3L/100km economy. Then there's the 177kW/340Nm 25t, the torquey 221kW/700Nm 30d turbo-diesel V6 and two versions of the supercharged 35t 3.0-litre V6, producing 250kW/450Nm in the Portfolio and R-Sport models, and 280kW/450Nm in the top-spec XF S.
