VF II MY17 SV6 Ute Extended Cab 2dr Spts Auto 6sp 3.6i Today's Holden ute is more a sports car than a workhorse. The intents of the 50 grand-plus SS V Redline variant, complete with 304kW/570Nm 6.2-litre LS3 V8 " that offers a slightly better power-weight ratio than a Commodore sedan " are perfectly clear. The V8 is the only alternative to the ute's base-level 210kW/350Nm 3.6-litre V6 which in itself is quick enough. But while the all independently-suspended Commodore ute might drive like a sedan and offer essentially the same comfort, it still maintains some workhorse capability: Braked towing capacity across the board is 1600kg, while the base ute will carry almost 900kg.
