This is a beautiful example in excellent condition with low kilometers, currently around 98,000 km. I've only driven it about 1,000 km during my ownership, having upgraded to a 7-seater. In that time, I've invested in several upgrades and repairs to ensure the car is in top condition:
1. Front Bonnet Respray: The front bonnet had a few stone chips (which is typical for this mileage), so I had it professionally resprayed (perfectly matched to the existing paint) and oven baked. I opted for an extra-thick clear coat, which should make it more durable and better than most Mondeos out there.
2. Dint Removal: The car came with a few coin-sized dints, as many vehicles of this age do. I had them professionally removed using paintless dent removal at the best shop in town. The result is a flawless body.
3. Ford Recalls and Brake Lines: I took the car to Ford to ensure all recalls were up to date, and while there, they replaced the front brake lines.
4. Full Service with Genuine Parts: The vehicle has just been fully serviced using only genuine parts. Major service items have been done, including the replacement of the diesel filter, air filter, oil filter (with a fully synthetic oil change), cabin filter, transmission fluid (with genuine $400 fluid), and the transmission filter.
5. Suspension Replacement: During servicing, the self-leveling suspension in the rear was found to be slightly leaking. I had $3,000 worth of genuine suspension parts just ordered from Ford and fully replaced. If you're looking at a Mondeo with 80,000 km or more, this is something to check as it's due for replacement. I doubt any of the other mondeos on car sales would of had this done as it's very expensive and only a fraction of the price to remove the self-leveling system and put standard struts in there but I wanted to keep it original for better comfort.
6. Replacement Alloy Sill Plates: I ordered new alloy sill plates from the UK, as the old ones had some scratches. The new ones look great and are in excellent condition.
This Mondeo is definitely one of the nicest you’ll find for the price. I’m not making a profit on this car—in fact, I’ve spent quite a bit more getting it to the standard I wanted, but I’ve upgraded to something larger. I will also provide a roadworthy certificate at the asking price and the vehicle is currently registered in Victoria. It has high-end tires, and everything is ready for you to go out on the road. The fuel economy is fantastic, and the car is incredibly quiet—luxurious and comfortable to drive.
Some of my favorite features include the adaptive cruise control, ice-cold A/C, and the overall smoothness of the vehicle. It also comes with a ton of features, from automatic parking assist to color-changing mood lighting on the floor. But honestly, I just love the comfortable drive and peace of mind, knowing it’s packed with safety features, especially with all the crazy drivers on the road.
