This is a low milage example of one of America's finest modern muscle cars. The 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 blurs the line between muscle cars and super cars. The aggressive, iconic Corvette wedge shape grabs your eye, particularly in this Arctic White colour with Carbon Flash black accents. The 2017 Corvette Z06 is the higher performance, more track focused version with nearly 200 more horsepower over the standard C7 Corvette Stingray. While Z06 is designed to handle club track days, it can happily be driven daily thanks to features like driver mode select suspension, active rev matching and the Bluetooth infotainment system.
Inside is a modern driver focussed cockpit with full digital display, eight-inch touchscreen, and a head-up display on the windscreen so you can keep your eyes on the road. In front of the driver sits a black leather-wrapped flat bottom steering wheel which includes controls for Bluetooth wireless technology, cruise control, audio system and Driver Information Centre. The 3LZ trim package includes Nappa leather and sueded-microfiber in a mix of adrenaline red and jet-black colours. Corvette's MyLink Bluetooth infotainment system syncs with your phone, and the Bose 10 speaker stereo can surround you in sound. There's dual zone climate control, with the passenger having their own digital controls on the left side. The centre section of the roof is lightweight carbon fibre and can be removed and stored neatly in the boot for a top off open air driving experience.
Lift the front hinged carbon fibre bonnet and you find the heart of the beast, the supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8 engine makes 650hp and 650 pound-feet of torque. This is linked to the 8 Speed Hi-Performance transmission with active rev matching on the downshifts and launch control. Corvette claims that the Z06 will do the 0-100 sprint in 3.2 seconds and the standing mile in 11.2 secs. Suspension is Z07 Magnetic Selective Ride Control with ride stiffness adjustable through the driver mode select dial in the cabin with Weather, Eco, Tour, Sport and Track modes. Braking is handled by the Brembo brake system comprised of massive 15.6" front and 15.3" rear carbon ceramic drilled rotors. They are gripped by six-piston front and four-piston rear monobloc callipers, finished in gloss red and embossed with the words "Corvette carbon ceramic". The engine breathes through a performance exhaust with quad four-inch polished stainless-steel tips.
This Z06 is a blue-collar Supercar and certainly a rare sight here in Australia. This example is very well optioned in a high trim level and with the Z07 performance pack and only displays 7,019 km on the odometer from new., Corvette Clinic Victoria professionally converted it to right hand drive. To convert one of these Corvettes, the car does need to be significantly disassembled and re-engineered and is a detailed and costly exercise but necessary to drive them on our roads here and this one was been completed to a high standard. The car would be suitable for someone seeking the performance of a modern supercar combined with the practicality and reliability provided by Chevrolet.
