As far as the legal components go: Engine is stock and still fitted with all its original emission systems, incuding the DPF which was replaced under the recall. The lift and wheels are the maximum allowed under a QLD registration. You can drive with the peace of mind that you won't be defected and stranded on the side of the road 👍
Upgrades:
- Custom built Canopy and fitout (more info below)
- Ultimate9 EVC Throttle Controller, fitted by previous owner. I never understood it but I hear it can be helpful for fuel economy and power if you dial it in right.
- Maxxis Razr MT tyres on CSA Ranger MT steel wheels.
- ARB Bullbar with LED light bar
- GME TX3500 Radio with GME AE470 Antenna
- Lockable battery disconnect switch and starter motor disconnect switch
- Rear leaf springs, done by the first owner. I'm not sure what they are but they are heavier duty than the stock options.
- Some other nice to haves: First owner had installed a GPS unit and Transmitter, these have been taken out but their housings are still on the dashboard which is good for theft detterence. Has the wiring installed for a roof mounted utility light too.

The canopy was custom built and installed by EZToolbox in Brisbane. It is only 15 months old. They did a Great Job. Heres the breakdown:
- 1400mm long canopy
- 200mm rear deck
- 780mm tapered suspended toolboxes
- 900mm under tray trundle drawer (with lid)
- 40L under tray water tank
- Dual lockable jerry can boxes
- Black powder coating
- Central locking
Inside the canopy I have built my own fitout, its all carpeted marine ply and fastened down with rivnuts. The advantage of the Rivnuts is that if you ever get tired of the fitout it can be completely disassembled leaving only the rivnuts behind.
I started with full 40mm foam insulation and built out:
560x350x300 Narrow utility drawer
- 560x550x180 Wide utility drawer
- 450x600 work bench
- Slimline pantry
- 770x300x180 kitchen drawer
- 800x350 kitchen bench
- Dometic fridge slide with sliding cutting board
The tables are built on Dunn and Watson 227KG Titan series locking drawer slides with the drawers built using the 125KG Hercules series locking drawer slides. These are the gold standard of canopy fitouts, they are over engineered like crazy but I really wanted to trust their strength.
Im selling this Hilux with the fridge, battery, and solar:
- Dometic CFX2 37L fridge
- Ecoflow Delta 3 1500 - 1800watts (Equivalent to 150Ah)
- 120W and 170W Hardkorr Solar panels (290 total)
This electrical system is also overkill. I could charge my laptop, lights, drone, multiple phones, and run the fridge all at the same time without being concerned about losing power. 290W of solar is a stupid amount of solar for a rig this size. During summer, without any solar input, you can keep the fridge running for a reliable 4-5 days.
This is a powerful and reliable beast and she will serve you well. It shocks me that I have only owned her for a bit over a year and I will miss this truck like crazy. Had I known I would be selling her so soon I would have gone on many more adventures with her. There are a few other cool things I havent typed out, like some tools she will come with, motion sensing lights in the canopy, and even a hidden compartment I built into the canopy insulation 😉.
This is the best priced Hilux you will see and she is ready for an adventure the day you buy her. First come, first served, message me quick. I'm moving overseas very shortly and need to find her a new home.
