It would seem Renault have a winner straight up with the Series IV Clio five door hatch. Pricing has been well researched, giving it an edge by presenting itself as a classy, stylish option in the sub $25 Grand set. Power trains are turbo petrol with manual/automated manual transmission options, with no diesel at this point. Chassis wise, it's completely competent. The cabin ambiance is first class, and sufficiently roomy with increasing connectivity and technology the more you pay, plus there's a full sized spare (steel) wheel. Surprisingly there are only four airbags, but it still gets top ratings in European safety tests.
