Available in base S form or in S-Premium, Si, SLi or (three-door) Sport trim, the Rio offers the choice of a 79kW/135Nm 1.4-litre engine, or a punchier 103kW/167Nm 1.6-litre. The former comes either in either six-speed manual or four-speed auto form, while the 1.6 can only be had with a six-speed auto. Six airbags and the usual electronic safety aids assist in qualifying the Rio for a five-star ANCAP safety rating.
