Overview
KIA has been vying for market share in the mid-sized 'classy' four-door slot for over a decade now, with little success. The pleasantly styled Optima Platinum changed all that, coming with an impressive array of kit appropriate for something wholly a lot more dollars. Now it's been joined by accordingly lower priced S and Si versions, filling out the model range. Tuning the suspension for local conditions and mating the 2.4-litre petrol to a newly developed six-speed auto gives it a drivability not experienced before. All this and a five-year/unlimited km warranty make it a compelling package.
