F80 Sedan 4dr M-DCT 7sp 3.0TT Fears that BMW's famed M3 might lose some credibility with the return to six-cylinder power prove to be unfounded with the latest, fifth generation M3 sedan and its coupe variant, now dubbed M4. Driving through either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed dual-clutch, the M3/M4 is faster over the ground and faster on a racetrack. With 317kW and 550Nm to play with, the twin-turbo 3.0-litre inline six is more powerful than the previous 309kW/400Nm V8. And although it can accelerate to 100km/h in a stunning 4.1 seconds, its 8.3L/100km fuel consumption (the V8 was 11.2L/100km) is equally stunning.
