Overview
With its seven seats, the Prius V joins the compact SUV crowd, but with attached environmental credentials. It's Toyota's first hybrid to run a Li-ion battery pack, which not only saves space and weight, but is also located where it doesn't compromise cabin space. The V is also handy for carting larger goods between 'kids to school' duties. There's good space to be had with all the rear seats folded, though you don't get a flat base. The chassis is a three dimensionally stretched Yaris, thus the bigger sibling to the Prius C, although the larger powerplant is from the standard Prius.
