5GEN MY14 2.5i Wagon 5dr Lineartronic 6sp AWD The Liberty-based Subaru Outback is the company's premium SUV " although primarily a road-oriented car " with the benefit of some off-road ability through its constant all wheel drive system. Bigger, and plusher than its Forester sibling, the Outback offers good passenger space allied with wagon flexibility. High-tech safety from a crash avoidance system and lane departure warning is available too. There's a wide range of boxer engines, from the 110kW/350Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel through the 127kW/235Nm 2.5-litre four-cylinder to the 191kW/350Nm 3.6-litre six-cylinder. Only the diesel offers a six-speed manual transmission: All other (petrol) variants are exclusively CVT.
