And though it might owe its basics to Audi's mid-size Q5 SUV, the mid-size Macan is essentially Porsche-powered; only the diesel engine is sourced from Audi. Currently there are three models, all V6s: The 190kW/580Nm 3.0-litre S Diesel, the 250kW/460Nm 3.0-litre petrol S and the top gun 294kW/550Nm 3.6-litre Turbo. Only the diesel is lifted from Audi, and there's just one transmission: Porsche's seven-speed dual-clutch PDK. Mighty on the road, and well equipped, the Macan is a worthy bearer of the badge.
