Mahindra's second attempt in the local market has a much more solid foundation, quite fitting for a very solid vehicle. So solid in fact that it is much more at home in the bush than it is on the highway or jaunts around your local traps. An update to the diesel has given it more power and torque, but it still languishes in the wake of the competition that are a couple of more rungs up the technological ladder. Equipment levels are not to be sneezed at and there's been an effort made to improve safety, but the rumoured auto gearbox is still to appear.
