The F-Type is a kind of latter-day incarnation of two-seat versions of the brilliant 1960s E-Type Jag that offers four supercharged engine choices " two 3.0-litre V6s (250kW/450Nm in "X" models and 280kW/460Nm in "S" versions) and a 5.0-litre V8 producing 364kW/625Nm in the "S" convertible and 404kW/680Nm in the flagship "R" coupe. Transmission is eight-speed automatic only and there's no lack of performance, at either end of the scale.
