Overview
Where the Epica made an "epic fail" (in internet parlance), Holden hopes the Malibu will become a volume seller. Straight up, they've got the sums right with pricing and equipment levels. They've also done the right thing by including a turbodiesel option. A size down from the Commodore it's similarly dimensioned to the Toyota Camry - not that far off. Its main competitors, including the Camry, would be the Subaru Liberty, Suzuki's Kizashi, the KIA Optima, the Hyundai i45, Ford's Mondeo and the Honda Accord Euro. You've got serious competition in that lot, and the Malibu may struggle to differentiate itself.
