With the 4th Generation RAV4 comes a higher level of sophistication, a choice of three engines " including a turbodiesel for the first time " and more for your money. The recent introduction of 2WD models continues alongside the 4x4 variants. Styling has moved on from the model it replaces, with slimmer A pillars it has a slicker look, accentuated by the generally sharper styling. The interior is roomier with better rear leg room and a larger cargo area. For those inclined to add a tow ball, be aware that the diesel doesn't have anywhere near the braked towing capacity of the 2.5-litre petrol.
